WE're proud that so many of our gorgeous new construction homes have sold in the first quarter of 2012!

We are proud to announce that we’ve had an amazing quarter for our Alabama new construction homes! When we revealed that we had 30 homes on market for the spring buyer season, we were sure that we would have many opportunities for buyers. We didn’t expect to have 24 contracts so quickly. We are now working on breaking new ground across all of our communities to accommodate the ready, willing and able homebuyers who are coming to us in droves.

The big winner when it comes to new homes put under contract is our Tivoli community, with six contracts. Though, Southern Hills is just behind with five. Halls Creek and Stone Creek had three each. Wyndham Gates and Cypress Glade both had two homes. The Cotswolds, Piney Woods and The Preserve all had one go under contract. We are happy to be providing these new homeowners excellent living spaces and the continued support of the Geordan Lifestyles program for added convenience. (more…)

The Tri-State BBQ Festival is coming to Dothan soon!

If you’re the kind of person who loves few things more than a mind-blowing food festival, you and anyone who has invested in one of our Dothan new construction homes is in luck! The seventh annual Tri-State BBQ festival will be held in Dothan in just a couple weeks, on April 13 and 14, at the Houston Country Farm Center. It’s an event with great food, live music, cooking classes, a classic car show and more starting at noon on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday. Tickets are only $10 for adults, but you can get them at half price until March 31.

The event will have 71 different teams showing off their BBQ skills, including professional chefs and amateur BBQ enthusiasts. Artisans from the tri-state area of Florida, Georgia and Alabama will come to compete, and there are teams from Mississippi, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, Michigan and New Mexico this year as well. These teams will cook chicken, ribs, pork butts and beef brisket for the professional judges, and many of the teams will also offer tastes to be judged by the public. (more…)

We have updated our iPad Giveaway to be a new iPad, with 4G LTE and a better screen!

Last month, we announced that we were hosting an iPad 2 giveaway on our Facebook page to gain support and find new friends. We had such a great turnout that we extended the program to the end of this month, betting that we would have a great surprise for our Facebook friends in store.

We are quite glad that Apple didn’t let us down and now rather than give away an iPad 2 to those that register on Facebook, we will be offering the new iPad! This newest release from Apple’s wizards boasts a much sharper screen with twice the graphics punch of the iPad 2, support of the faster 4G LTE networks, an improved 5 megapixel camera and a dictation function. The release today means we will easily be able to have one ready to send to the winner as soon as they accept it following our March 31 announcement. (more…)

The Year of Alabama Food celebrates restaurants, chefs and recipes from all over Alabama.

If you have been considering purchasing one of our Dothan new construction homes, you will be happy to know that in addition to living in a great community, you will have access to award-winning restaurants. The Year of Alabama Food website recently released a brochure titled “100 Dishes to Eat in Alabama Before You Die,” and Dothan had three mentions.

First was the Old Mill Restaurant, which can be found at 2557 Murphy Mill Road. The must-try dish there is fresh grouper. Residents have also praised the shrimp and crab claws as some of the best in the city. The Old Mill Restaurant also has a full bar. It is perfect for a special night out with prices ranging from $8.99 to $26.99.
